Laura Bofill, with a background of an artistic family, is a Spanish painter, born in Barcelona in 1983.
She completed her studies across a spectrum of international universities, as Barcelona, New York, London and Dublin.
She has been studying in different artistic modalities, among others: film director, graphic designer, photography, textile designer, ceramic and painting. After having all these different experiences, studying different techniques, she decided to focus on what she most liked, combining paintings and photography.
The technique of my paintings is mixed media.
Resin, acrylic paint, drawing, photography and sometimes other materials such as gold or silver leaf.
Generally, the female figure is a drawing, which I previously draw on paper and then digitize it.
The flowers are photographed and then retouched with paint.
The background and the bodies are generally painted.
In my works it is difficult to appreciate the techniques, I think this is an interesting point, because it creates interest to the viewer.
Each female figure represents women who have been important in my life, they are small tributes to women I have admired, they are not always portraits of them but each of the models suggest me a memory of them. All of them represented with great beauty and surrounded by nature, which is what surrounds me in my daily life since I moved to the mountains, a factor that inspires me to create all these natural scenarios.
After having accomplished her studies at university, she began to work in her family studio, where she learnt to work with new materials like the resin until now. She has been exhibiting in different galleries all around Europe, as in Sweden, Denmark, England, Germany, Holland, Spain and France, as well as in North Africa, for example Morocco. At the same time she has presented her art works in different international art fairs, like the Shanghai art Fair China, Fresh art fair Cheltenham, England, Affordable Art Fair of Stockholm, Buy Art Fair of Manchester, Affordable Art Fair of Amsterdam, Art Madrid Fair, Luxembourg art Fair Affordable art fair London Batterse…
