Dylan had travelled to Greece to assess the situation with the refugee camps there. Happen-stance guided him to Serbia where he came across an old army barracks being squatted by several thousand refugees. The situation was bad but had a high degree of potential for making many lives better with the least resources available.
Abdul Saboor is a photographer from Afghanistan who was occupying the barracks. His pictures were shared through social media and I loved his work, and sought to reproduce in acrylic to help share his story.
