This is the work of Afghani photographer Abdul Saboor from Christmas 2017. A friend of mine, Dylan Longman, had travelled to Greece and then to Belgrade, Serbia, to this old army Barracks where many hundreds of refugees were staying. This is the second in the series, and at only 25x30cm, it contrasts the previous 1400x2600cm. Dylan told me of Abdul, who could not return to Afghanistan for cooperating with the coalition. He took the children to the swimming pool and engaged with the volunteer workers in setting up kitchens, charging stations and the likes. He is currently in Paris holding exhibitions of his incredible journey into Europe.
