Paintings of place, shelter and belonging by Rosin O'Farrell
The Doorway Gallery, 27 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2
September 10th - 24th
This is a show about the places that shape us.
Some are wide open: coastlines, hills, pale stone, heat and water. Others are enclosed: a familiar chair, books gathered over years, a lamp left glowing, the corner of a pub where stories have settled into the walls.
Across both the landscapes and interiors, the deeper subject is not location alone. It is our emotional relationship with place. Where we feel held. Where we remember ourselves. Where the outside world quietens enough for us to notice what is already there.
The live painting on Culture Night strengthens this beautifully. Instead of a conventional opening, the public will see a painting arrive through looking, decision-making, scraping back and beginning again.
Róisín O’Farrell will paint live in the gallery as part of Culture Night
Date: September Friday, 18th
Time: 5-8pm
