    David told Dublin Gazette he was “overwhelmed” by the positive response to his paintings.
    “I was overwhelmed with the positive reaction to my paintings, and encouraged to continue my artistic career.”
    Brent Pope was full of praise for the talented artist.
    “David should be incredibly proud, he has this skill and proud that he is bringing these vacant spaces to life,” he told Dublin Gazette.
    The Doorway Gallery owner, Denise Donnelly said: “I was absolutely delighted with the response we got to David Ryan’s paintings and also the generous support for Focus Ireland,” she said.
    Denise thanked David for his “stunning paintings” and is looking forward to taking him to international art fairs, and is excited to give him a solo show in their City Centre gallery.
    There is a last chance to see ‘Vacant Spaces’ by David Ryan in Nutgrove Shopping Centre, which is open until this Sunday, November 3rd.
    David’s work can also be purchased through The Doorway Gallery after the festival, with a donation from each painting going to Focus Ireland.

    Hosted by The Doorway Gallery, ‘Vacant Spaces’ by David Ryan opened last Thursday evening at Nutgrove Shopping Centre, which was officially launched by broadcaster and rugby pundit, Brent Pope.
    David’s paintings are based on squat houses he has visited around Dublin, and a donation from each of his paintings at the exhibition is going to Focus Ireland.

    Vacant Spaces

    The Doorway Gallery is hosting an exhibition by David Ryan, entitled, ‘Vacant Spaces’, on Thursday, October 24 between 7-9pm at Nutgrove Shopping Centre, Rathfarnham.

    Ryan is an outsider artist who works out of various squats around Dublin. His current projects include several series of oil paintings.

    He also participates in festival builds and is a committed member of the infamous Irish Underground piano bar crew at Glastonbury, and the Bog Cottage at Electric Picnic.
